Admissions - How to Apply

Who Should Apply
Living Routes programs are designed for solution-oriented, motivated learners who are ready to explore simple, healthy living and close community cooperation. Students come from diverse backgrounds, ages, and academic pursuits, but share a common interest in experiential, collaborative learning. While most participants are enrolled in college, the programs are also open to those in graduate programs or not currently in school, including sabbatical teachers and others looking for the skills and experience of sustainability education.

1. Apply online, download an application form (PDF download - 45k), or call us at 888-515-7333 and we will send you one.

2. Follow the directions on the application form. Different materials are required for Semester and Summer/January term programs.

Semester Programs:

  • Application
  • $50 application fee
  • Short biographical essay
  • Unofficial transcript (can be requested and sent directly to us by your school)
  • 2 letters of reference (can be requested and sent directly to us)

Summer/January programs:

  • Application
  • $25 application fee

3. Once we have received your materials, we will contact you about setting up an interview (which can be either in person or by phone).

Deadlines
Living Routes has a Rolling Admissions policy. Each application is reviewed as soon as all required information is received. For semester programs, interviews can be scheduled as soon as a transcript and references are requested; they can be received later. Programs often fill before the deadline. Students are encouraged to apply early for the best chance of joining the program and semester of their choice.

Living Routes does not discriminate on the basis of sex, religion, race, color, sexual orientation, national or ethnic origin, physical or mental disability in the administration of its policies and programs.
